Paper on APA Scavenger Hunt

Paper on APA Scavenger Hunt

For your assignment this week you will engage in an APA Scavenger Hunt! You will use your APA manual as a resource in completing this assignment and specifically the 7th edition guidelines for student papers. You are welcome to complete this assignment as individuals or in small groups (2-3) but in the end each student must submit their own copy of the assignment for grading. If you are working in a small group, the names of all group members should appear at the top of the assignment. The submission should be provided as a WORD document.

Prior to starting the assignment, please view the PPT presentation for this module.

I have attached a mini-APA paper below that you will use for the assignment as well as the answer sheet you will submit for the assignment. The mini-APA paper contains errors in the APA formatting on each page: the title page, the text page and the reference page. In order to properly view this document, you must download and/or view it as a WORD document. Do not attempt to view this document on your phone.

Assignment specifics:

  1. The errors are strictly format errors and are not related to the topic, content, grammar or spelling.
  2. The mini paper represents a portion of a larger paper and so the omission of a concluding paragraph is intentional and not considered an error for the purposes of this assignment.
  3. The omission of DOI/URL links in the reference page is intentional to direct attention to the formatting of the other main elements of the reference entry. Therefore, the omission of the DOI/URL links is not considered an error for the purposes of this assignment.
  4. There are a total of 20 errors that you will need to find in the paper. As a hint, I have segregated the answer sheet to reflect the number of errors by page: title page, text page, reference page.
  5. Errors are not repeated and therefore you answer sheet should not contain duplicate responses.
  6. The title of an assignment is not considered a level heading for the purposes of formatting.

Do not wait until the last minute to start this assignment as it takes a significant amount of “hunting” to find some of the errors.

Each correct response on the answer key is worth 5 points towards your assignment grade.
