Cultural Infographic Assignment

This assignment is worth 20% of your final grade in PSW 154
- Each student will be assigned 1 (one) cultural
- Each student is to produce a one-page ePoster/Infographic that details various aspects of their assigned culture.
The use of AI-generated material is not permitted; submissions must be written in your own words using appropriate course readings, and any discussion or AI generated content on ePoster/Infographic deemed to be AI-generated will receive a grade of zero.
There are two (2) parts to this assignment:
Part A of Cultural Assignment

- You must create a one-page ePoster/Infographic (total of 3 pages)
- Include:
- One (1) page ePoster/Infographic
- One (1) title page (7th edition)
- One (1) reference page – 7th edition APA format (outlining sources/reference used)
- Students can choose their own ePoster template (there are numerous ePoster template available online (see examples):
- Padlet, Pikotchart, Canva and PowerPoint (Infographic type)
- If you choose PowerPoint template ensure there is voice recording, of your assigned Use your creativity when creating your poster – insert pictures, songs, and/or poems etc… that come from that culture.
- Include:

There are five (5) guiding questions to guide your ePoster/Infographic:
- Thoroughly describe your culture’s
- Identify the main religion of that group (which religion is the dominant one as there may be many).
- Do they worship any deities?
- How do they worship?
- When do they worship?
- Identify two major festivities or religious

- What foods are eaten or not eaten?
- Why does this culture eat food or prepare food in certain ways?
- Find a recipe of food or drink from your culture to share with the class
- What are this culture’s perceptions of health care and illness?
- Does this culture have certain beliefs about the causes of illness?
- What are the culture’s perceptions of health?
- Does this culture engage in any specific health care practices? (Folk remedies, charms, rituals, etc)

- When is traditional dress worn?
- Culture plays an important role in shaping one’s style of
- Consider how this culture influences verbal and non-verbal communication? (Eye contact, personal space, greeting, touching, silence, smiling, sadness/grief, etc.).
- Your ePoster/infographic must be uploaded into the Assignment folder on Blackboard in pdf format and if you are using Piktochart include the URL with your submission.
- Ensure in-text citation according to 7th edition APA See Librarian slides (week 4) to guide with in-text citations
- Your one-page ePoster/infographic will be submitted to SafeAssign upon submission to the Assignment folder.
Part B of Cultural Assignment – Online Discussion
- You must post your one-page ePoster/infographic on Blackboard under the Discussion Forum labelled Cultural ePoster/infographic online discussion on date and time of ePoster/infographic.
- You will have 4 days to respond to one of your peers’
- Due February 20th by

o IMPORTANT: This is an interactive assignment and once it closes it cannot be reopened.
- If nothing is submitted by the final due date when the assignment closes, the student will receive a grade of zero (0).
- Respond to one (1) of your peers’ ePoster/infographic by February 24th by 2359
- Cultural ePoster/infographic must be different from your assigned culture
- A minimum of one (1) paragraph or 50 words
- Discussions on Blackboard are a combination of posting scholarly analysis and conversation with your peers. Be polite and respectful (e.g., Hello Mary (not Hey)).
- Interaction with peers about their postings can be in the form of a question, follow-up idea, or alternative or contrasting viewpoints.
